Texas Gov. Rick Perry couldn’t resist mentioning his feud with California Gov. Jerry Brown while citing the Lone Star State’s economic climate during a Capitol appearance Wednesday to tout the Interstate 69 project:
“Everybody knows the formula that we have in place to attract businesses. You all have heard me mention it a time or two. Jerry Brown hears me …. Keep the taxes low, so people can keep more of their money, and keep the regulations reasonable so that the red tape is at a minimum. And we keep our courts fair so our employers spend more time creating wealth, rather than having to defend themselves from frivolous lawsuits. We work hard to maintain a world-class workforce.”
Perry then raced back to his nearby office, giving a bit of a wave to reporters but not pausing to answer questions about the Texas versus California war or anything else.
Little wonder Brown is on Perry’s mind.
