1. It's so beautiful there.

Too many people just don't realize how beautiful our state is, and in so many different areas

Are these your photos? If not, an excellent source for images is the magazine Texas Highways. And if they are, great job!

2. Yes, it is beautiful

that's why I started putting up State Park threads. So far I have just been using stuff from the State Parks Websites. Each state Park has their own website. I started with the ones around me in Cleburne.

3. Good idea keeping it local.

Otherwise you'd be at this another week or so

Maybe we could start a trend here and get everyone else to do the same for their areas

4. Of course "local" is a matter of degree

do your think I ought to go to the Lounge or keep these Tx St PK posts here?

5. In Texas, "local" is what, within a couple of hundred miles?

And you could probably cross-post these to the Lounge. I suspect many are taking off the whole week, as it seems more active for the daytime right now.

9. I was a frequent visitor to Palo Duro too

when I lived in Amarillo. The canyon is gorgeous! One of my favorite activities was horseback riding through the canyon. Sometimes we'd go up steep cliffs on very skinny trails and I would have to close my eyes and put all my trust in the horse

7. A belated "thank you" for this.

Last winter when you first posted this, my husband and I had just arrived in Texas from Maryland to buy a motorhome to live and travel in. I saw your pictures and kind of filed Caprock Canyons in the back of my mind in case we ever traveled near there.

Last week, we were heading East from Palo Duro and decided to spend the weekend at Caprock. Wow, was that ever a good call. It was beautiful and one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. I don't think I would have known about it if not for your post and pictures so... Thank You!
