New satellite imagery shows a remarkable perspective of the activity, with lights from hundreds of oil and gas rigs carving a crescent-shaped glow across the darkness of rural South Texas.
The Eagle Ford lights run between San Antonio at the top left and Corpus Christi in the center of the images. At the bottom are McAllen and Brownsville, while Houston is the large patch of light at top right.
