1. GET REGISTERED
Get registered to vote with your current name at your current address by 30 days before Election Day.

2. WHAT TO BRING

MAKE SURE YOU BRING one of these with your current name to the polls to make
sure your vote counts:


• Your voter registration card
OR
• A driver's license or personal identification card issued to you by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
• A driver’s license or personal identification card issued by an agency of any state (even if expired)
• A form of identification that contains your photograph and establishes your identity
• A birth certificate or other document confirming birth that is admissible in a court of law and establishes the person’s identity
• United States citizenship papers
• United States passport
• Official mail addressed to you by a governmental entity
• A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and current address.

3. VOTE!
Election Day is Tuesday November 6, 2012. Polls in Texas will be
open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Time.

VOTE EARLY:
Texas has early voting, beginning for the general election on October20th and ending on November 2nd. For the latest information on where, when and how to vote early contact your local board of elections.

VOTE BY MAIL:
If you’re away from the county in which you’re registered on Election Day and during early voting, sick or disabled, 65 years of age or older on Election Day, or confined in jail but eligible to vote, you can vote absentee by mail. Mail your request to your local county clerk for the November 6, 2012 Election between September 7, 2012 and October 30, 2012. Applications must be received (not postmarked) by October 30 at 5 pm. You may also fax your application if your county clerk has a fax number.

Some wise person said "you can't change the world by blogging." My hope is to give people here at DU some small, tangible tool they can use and share to organize voters.
