Texans to get millions in health insurance rebates

In one of the most noticeable effects of the federal health care reform law so far, more than a million Texans will be getting money back from their insurance companies.

The U.S. Health and Human Services Department said recently that health insurers will give rebates totaling $167 million to 1.5 million Texans as part of President Barack Obama's health insurance overhaul.

The average rebate will be $187, according to the Health and Human Services Department. Companies must provide the rebates by Wednesday.

Insurance companies in Texas will have to refund more money than those in any other state. The next closest state in terms of rebates is Florida, where companies will give back $123.6 million.

I mean, with a LARGE percentage of Texans being hard right conservatives and teabaggers who don't want government involved in their health care, most of those teabaggers will stand up for their convictions, put their money where their mouth is and send the checks back, uncashed, as a sign of protest against the ACA. This is, I'm sure due to all the protesting, a futile effort by the insurance companies to give money back to their clients who do not want cheaper rates, due to 'big gubmint' who will just send it back.

Right? Right?
