Former U.S. Trade Rep. Ron Kirk joins Battleground Texas
Ron Kirk, the former Dallas mayor, has joined Battleground Texas.
The former U.S. trade representative and first buddy to President Barack Obama unites with numerous other prominent Democrats on the group’s new advisory board. Members include Rep. Joaquin Castro of San Antonio, prolific fundraiser Naomi Aberly of Dallas and former Obama strategist Jeremy Bird.
Jenn Brown, who started as executive director for Battleground Texas, is now chairwoman of the advisory board.
Battleground Texas is a grassroots organization with the goal of making the Lone Star State, long a GOP stronghold, a swing state.
