Texas Supreme Court declines to review former Tech coach Leach's appeal
The Texas Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal by former Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach, who accused a former player’s father of influencing his termination from the university.
Leach attorney Michael Hurst said he will meet with the coach to discuss other options for obtaining relief.
“We’re incredibly disappointed for coach Leach,” he said. “It’s certainly an injustice.”
The justices issued an order May 1 denying Leach’s petition to review his appeal of the decision by the Seventh Court of Appeals of Texas in November, which affirmed a Lubbock district court judge’s ruling.
