Arlington Thwarts $1.8 Million Cyber Attack

Arlington city staff foiled a cyber attack that was set up to steal nearly $2 million in city funds.

City spokeswoman Rebecca Rodriguez said sophisticated online attack targeted $1.8 million in city money.

The city's treasury staff recently noticed some irregularities in several city accounts.

"It was almost like any kind of fraudulent credit card transaction that you would notice in your personal account -- it was noticed here in the city," Rodriguez said.
