Initial voter ID hearing set for Oct. 25

A federal judge has set Oct. 25 as the date for an initial conference hearing for two cases opposing Texas’ voter ID law.

District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos, in an order signed last week, granted the Justice Department’s request to consolidate the two pending Texas voter ID suits.
