1. Corbett trying to head off primary challenge with privatization

Corbett is facing a primary challenge from Montgomery Co. Commissioner Bruce Castor, as well as others. One of their criticisms is that he hasn't been doing any privatization.

This explains the extreme rush to sell off the PA Lottery (without any hearings or legislative debate), and a big push next month to sell off the State Store system. In addition, in the next couple months, I expect some announcements about privatized highway construction, which is now authorized by a new state law.
