I told her the calls are made in numerical order - although I have no clue how it's done.

I hpe that happens to all the dementia patiets, just to make them smile.

Why shouldn't your mom have the pleasure of a conversation with President Clinton? My FIL, a newspaper man for over 60 years slipped into dementia during his last few months. John Liszt (sp?) a guy from NJ who killed his wife, children, and mother-in-law forty years in the past was arrested and a forensic model of his face and a recent photo of him appeared side by side on the front page of the NY Daily News. My dear FIL was delighted! He thought the story was about him and what a wonderful and faithful reporter he had been during his long career at the paper. He earned it, he deserved it, and by golly he did not go before celebrating his heart's desire of recognition.

(100 miles). It's not too bad - yet. She still lives in her own home. My Dad passed in 2004 and she never drove, so she is dependent on us to take her shopping etc.

I'm working at the polls tomorrow. It's going to be a long day, with no news on how things are going until I get home. We don't even have cell phone service there. We're very rural and out in the woods.

I wish I could be so excited about it! It is always the little things, and if it made her happy, it is all good.
