My mom called me this afternoon with exciting news!! Bill Clinton

called her! I was trying not to laugh....my Mom has dementia and has a hard time dealing with what is real and isn't. Of course it was a recorded message (to vote for Mark Critz for Congress), but she thought it was real time. It made her day - and mine to have her be so happy when she is usually so down.

9. She has an unlisted number and wondered how he got it

I told her the calls are made in numerical order - although I have no clue how it's done.

11. Me too. My m-i-l is in the early stages of Alzheimers and she lives

in the city of Pgh. (my Mom is in the burbs). There's no telling how many calls my m-i-l has received .

16. No, it's not easy explaining things to her. In fact, I told her that

Pat Boone called me last week, but it was for Romney and I hung up on him .

7. Wonderful!

Why shouldn't your mom have the pleasure of a conversation with President Clinton? My FIL, a newspaper man for over 60 years slipped into dementia during his last few months. John Liszt (sp?) a guy from NJ who killed his wife, children, and mother-in-law forty years in the past was arrested and a forensic model of his face and a recent photo of him appeared side by side on the front page of the NY Daily News. My dear FIL was delighted! He thought the story was about him and what a wonderful and faithful reporter he had been during his long career at the paper. He earned it, he deserved it, and by golly he did not go before celebrating his heart's desire of recognition.

25. I have two brothers and a sister. I live the furthest away

(100 miles). It's not too bad - yet. She still lives in her own home. My Dad passed in 2004 and she never drove, so she is dependent on us to take her shopping etc.

and he really DID call your mom, and you're only assuming it was a recorded message

is possible! Oh, I just thought of something. I received a call from Gov. Corbett last week and he used my name in his greeting . Maybe he was real.

20. We need some lightening up. I know I do

I'm working at the polls tomorrow. It's going to be a long day, with no news on how things are going until I get home. We don't even have cell phone service there. We're very rural and out in the woods.
