This is a 37 miniute documentary showing abuses by PA State Troopers at what should have been a simple traffic stop, although I have trouble even determining why there would have been a stop at all.
Is is longer than most videos that I bother to watch, but I couldn't stop watching it. My mouth is dry and I can hardly think from what I saw.

(19,348 posts)With that said, it is time to eliminate the FOP. These state agents do not need anymore power.

(18,219 posts)The FOP could not stop prosecution of these crimes if the justice system did not turn a blind eye. We all know that the police will cover each others' asses, but there is too much evidence for that to hold up if it were to be prosecuted. The problem here is the whole system.

(776 posts)when losses from misconduct lawsuits arrise, take it all out of that departments pension fund.
You can bet psyco cops who would reduce all other cop pensions would not be tolerated.

(18,219 posts)the one thing that it does is to alert the powers-that-be how many people have become aware of this, and are outraged by it. I have seen many times when petitions do lead to further actions, even after this long. They wanted this to be hidden, and the petition tells them that it is not hidden.

(8,514 posts)It's Sunday, but you can leave a message. I did. I told them that I was in Ohio and I had planned to go up to PA and open another office for my business (the truth), but after viewing the video, I'd scrapped those plans entirely. I also told them that the video I viewed was going viral on the internet and they needed to do something about their troopers who had beaten an innocent man.

(47,675 posts)Okay, for the most part. Every one I've encountered has been professional even when I was the jerk. Our local cops are cool too, but that's not true everywhere. Rent-a-Cops tend to be assholes.
I have a State Trooper to thank for saving my life. Yes, I did send him a letter stating that.

(18,219 posts)But it is about a few who acted very poorly. I agree that, although I have had few encounters, they have all been professional. I understand how you feel about it. But the ones who act the way they did on the video just give them all a bad name, and I have a problem with that.
