Let's start early! Watching election night together in the RTP area..???
Who may be interested?
And what may be some good options at which to meet?

2. Research Triangle Park - Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro - RTP is sorta central....
|
but we seem to migrate between Raleigh and Durham for the events (the few I've attended)

4. Broad St hosted an election results party in 2008
|
Me, Triana and Struggle4Progress were there.
I loved every minute of it! I don't know if they will be doing that again this year. Charlotte used to host election returns in their old convention center. Both parties were there, the media,a nd all the candidates showed up about 8pm to watch the returns and have immediate access to the media. It would be great if there is something like that around here. |

5. I bet they do it again
|
--it's a good spot for getting together IMO.
Probably the local candidates will have a big rally in a hotel in Raleigh for people who've worked on the campaigns. |

6. They did and there was a big party in downtown Durham afterwards
|
I withered and went home but some of our group went downtown to celebrate after the big victory. If Broad St. Cafe does it again, it's a great place to watch the election. We reserved the back room at Satisfaction for the primaries in 08 I think - it may already be booked for Nov 6th this year tho we could check. It's for a private group - had/has a big-screen TV - wait staff to serve up food/drinks (or used to, their policies may have changed).

8. well, seems I am going to be busy until after 9 PM...so...
|
if anyone locally wants to get together, this catherder is going to have to delegate to a different catherder! my wife, daughter and I are going to an event - not sure of my plans, but you gather somewhere, let me know and perhaps I can join you later on.

9. I plan to head to Broad Street cafe Election night around 7:00 or earlier if possible
|
I haven't been in there recently, so don't know what their setup is. It's where some DUers gathered in '08.
