HuffPo: Early Voting Experience In North Carolina Bodes Ill For Civility On Election DayIf Election Day goes anything like the past 17 days of early voting in North Carolina, here's what you can expect at your local precincts on Tuesday:
• Belligerent citizens demanding the right to personally inspect the voting process and yelling "shut up" at the top of their lungs when election officials tell them that only official poll observers can do that. • Official poll observers who have been improperly trained by the groups they represent and think it's their job to interrogate voters rather than just watch. • Long lines, which means that a lot of people end up waiting outside the designated no-electioneering zones, getting harangued by campaign workers. 5. It may be time for mail in absentee ballots

and registering as repubs just to be left alone to vote as we please. Better yet we should be working for same day registration and no party affiliation listed. That is how it is in WI and we almost lost those.

7. We have same-day registration & voting here
|
during early voting period. That just ended today. With a Repub gov on the way though, it will likely be abolished and Voter ID implemented.

was smooth. Only about 45 minute wait and no one in line was rude or such. Very friendly, even the people handing out the voting recommendation for each party. Really a pleasant experience and a beautiful day.

will be voting tomorrow at our normally quiet precinct. Other son will be voting at UNCW, and I cast my absentee ballot about 5-6 weeks ago.
