NY1 Exclusive: Rumblings Indicate Possible Shakeup in State Senate Leadership

Zack Fink

A change in leadership may be on the horizon in the New York State Senate after sources say discussions are under way to bring the two rival Democratic conferences back together, sources tell NY1.

The move would effectively end the power sharing arrangement between the Independent Democratic Conference and Senate Republicans.

Sources tell NY1 Democratic Senator Mike Gianaris of Queens was poised to meet with Senator Jeff Klein of the Bronx on Wednesday and possibly offer Klein a co-leadership position.
