NYPD housing officer killed in Coney Island fire to be laid to rest

CONEY ISLAND (WABC) -- Friends, family and colleagues will gather Monday morning to bid a final farewell to the NYPD housing officer killed in a Brooklyn fire.

Officer Dennis Guerra and his partner were overcome by smoke and carbon monoxide after rushing into a high-rise building in Coney Island on April 6. He died at the hospital Wednesday morning, while Officer Rosa Rodriguez remains in critical but stable condition.
