Moral Mondays is coming to Albany!

Moral Mondays 1/12/2015
This Monday, and every week throughout the year, New Yorkers from around the state will gather in Albany at the State Capitol to rally against the deep inequalities in our state and the politicians that enable them.

Find out information regarding bus rides to Albany here.

Organized by Alliance for Quality Education and other groups, this week's rally focuses on protecting our public schools. The hedge fund billionaires who paid millions to ensure the victories of Governor Cuomo and the Republican State Senate are now focused on transforming our public education into a system of privately-run, unaccountable charter schools.

Reverend William Barber, head of the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP, was one of the lead organizers of Moral Mondays in North Carolina and will be joining our movement in Albany tomorrow. He is recognized as one of the most brilliant speakers and leaders of our time.

Kind word for the event...

"I teach on Mondays, so I won't be there, but if you can make it to Albany this Monday, I'd strongly encourage going to this event, both for our schools and kids and to see Reverend Barber. I lived in North Carolina for 7 years, and seen Reverend Barber speak dozens of times. He is one of the most extraordinary, brilliant, framework-changing speakers/leaders I've ever seen.
There are spaces on the buses from NYC if you sign up!

I'm going to be out for a while, otherwise I would love to attend. I hope some DU'ers show up and keep the rest of the keyboard warriors posted.
