Infighting tears at N.J. Democrats

This is a good example of how republicans can sit on the sidelines and watch us destroy our own party.

Still, some partisans worry that party infighting, and an everyone-for-themselves ethos, will improve Christie’s chances for a landslide win on Nov. 5 and boost his prospects for the presidency in 2016 — while showing just how discombobulated the Democrats have become in a traditionally blue state.

And while the legislative map favors Democrats, some are not taking comfort in it. They fear Christie’s coattails could help the GOP gain some seats in the Legislature. A GOP takeover is not even beyond the realm of possibility, the biggest pessimists in the party say.

-snip-

“Christie’s not the problem, we’re the problem,” said Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. of Paterson. “Sooner or later these people are going to wake up, maybe it will be July 21 or 22, and say that, ‘Hey, this could affect the legislative races more so than we thought.’Ÿ”

-snip-

Twenty-six of them – including the powerful party brokers in the Democratic heartlands of Hudson and Essex counties — have already pledged their loyalty, money and get-out-the-vote muscle for Christie.

In Politics 2013 - probably should have posted it here. RE: how the special elections could hurt over all Democratic voter turn out.

I'm volunteering for Pallone in the Primary. I think it's a lesson in futility but he's the one I feel confident in my personal support for.

However, come August I'll turn right around and get back out there and push Booker.

What I worry about - by the time it gets to Buono being the main event - will the Democratic Voter be fatigued?

I think the Repubs are counting on it. And I also think that even though what Christie is doing is legal (albeit extremely expensive) - it's not right. Or rather it is. It's how the right behaves.

I think it could be a win win win

and just think how much damage a republican senator for 3 weeks might do
ESPECIALLY if they sneak in a BAD gun bill

Remember, Lautenberg needed to fly in and cast a vote while very ill

Beware the Cornyn amendment sneaking in

It would eradicate the good gun control in everystate.

BTW, any progressive voter that claimed to like Lautenberg, can best honor him by voting for gun control, like he was a champion of.

and, btw, Bill Bradley heavily endorsed Cory Booker. And, if Booker is not on the 2016 national ticket, he can be a senator for 40 years.

Will Booker get up the day after he wins and take to the airwaves for Buono?

Because that Christie glamour is going to flip NJ Red. Though - some of our Democratic Leadership already is by supporting a man who believes he has more right over my vagina, uterus, ovaries, and Fallopian tube (ectopic - Christie would have loved if I died ) than my husband does.

Don't think it can happen in a Blue state? Look at Wisconsin. And we don't have the chutzpah they do out there as a state.

I know it's oh so yesterday - but women in NJ need to get ready to fight. Because Dems thinking Christie is awesome - are going to go R Down The Line when they press the button.

I understand that Booker is filled with Awesome Sauce - but this "game" will have long term consequences for the women you know and love. I hope graham it is your intent to get out on the street and on the phone and GOTV for Buono. The women of NJ? Our lives depend on it.

May 16th I had a tube removed/abortion because my life did.

These foaming at the mouth women haters would not have blinked an eye because to them- it's abortion.

That's what Good Guv'nah Dough Boy is all about.

Abortion is not decided. Folks just want to think it is. It's now in the hands of the state. And Menendez and Booker will have to stand down and take the sucker punch while women in your backyard die.

I'm sorry because I repeat your passion for Liberal and Progressive ideas - but I would like to see a little passion and support for the Democratic Governor Candidate for NJ.

Again - Reality Check.

Abortion is now being LEGISLATED at the state level. And the Feds can do nothing about it. And they wouldnt even if they could. Look at the 37 bills in Congress.

What if the court decides NO 2013 race, that it should be decided in 2014?
Don't think that can't happen.

Right now there is a republican senator.

and I think it could play the other way-
with Booker already in, the republicans may figure it's in the bag, and not bother.

There could be an upset.

If CC was so sure of himself, why are there dozens of negative ads against Buono day in day out?
In fact, CC is actually helping Buono, because she is unknown and people are hearing these, then hearing her ads,
and learning about her.

It might be a major upset in Nov.

and we need the senate and the presidency to insure SCOTUS turns democratic in the next 3-5 years,
and will overturn these bad state bills and reinterprets the 2nd.

My vote is for Buono and straight democratic ticket.
But I want those 3 extra weeks filled with a democratic senator, not the interim republican one who has nothing to win or lose with his vote and can play dirty games with it.

I know that. And I also know that it's a game - just a game.

My life is not a game.

And neither are those of the three women my Ob-Gyn is going to have to perform that procedure on next week. She does on average 12 of these a month.

So without passion for a Liberal, Female, Governor and a strong GOTV - "that one" is going to win a bring a bunch of mysoginsts into Trenton with him.

And no money should be given to the Democraric Party at this time in case they give it to the traitors who turned against Buono.

All donations directly to the candidate. We've already earmarked a thousand for Booker in the general and Maxed out Buono.
