Anyone in MN House District 41b?

My wife and I were at the Ramsey County Fair yesterday, and saw Tim Utz, the Constitution Party candidate for that district strutting around the fairgrounds in a shirt imprinted on the back with the Democratic donkey and the Republic elephant in an Xed-out circle. He kept trying to talk to people, but they weren't having any. So, he went and stood by the live broadcast from some radio station, I guess hoping to get noticed and interviewed. The host of the show saw him, and deliberately ignored him. Eventually, he wandered off.

I know nothing about this guy. A teapartier, I assume. Anyone know anything about this guy, other than knowing that he'll lose?

I can believe it. He looked like a blustery sort when I saw him at MineralMan Jul 2012 #3
I find his approach somewhat interesting, however. Brickbat Jul 2012 #4

His stance on unions cracks my shit up. He and Mr. Brickbat were in the same union many years ago. I'll have to ask if Mr. Brickbat remembers him at all.

as a Constitution Party/teabagger/Ron Paul candidate, he replied, "That makes sense. If it's the Tim I think it is, it's one of the few people I've almost ever had a fistfight with."

Which doesn't tell you much, unless you know Mr. Brickbat, in which case it tells you pretty much all you need to know.

the fair. Anyhow, that seat seems pretty secure for the incumbent Democrat, so no worries.

He describes himself as a "labor candidate." I'd love it if some of our DFLers used that phrase more often. I mean, there's "labor endorsed," but to embrace it a little more fully than that -- I'd like to see more of that from our side.
