Min wage in MN is lower

than the Federal and lower than in IA, WI and, I think, the Dakotas.

What is going on? One would not expect something like this in Minnesota. Is it because of Pawlenty and then the Republican control of both houses?

1. It can't be lower than the federal

That's not possible.

2. Federal law allows for exemptions

Federal law (and many state laws) mandate that certain types of employees are exempt from minimum wage requirements -- such as administrative, professional, executive, and outside sales employees. In addition, federal and state laws provide for additional exemptions from the minimum wage for employees who are full-time college students, workers on some farms, workers employed in fishing enterprises, and other types of employees.

Minnesota is one of four states with min wage below Federal at $6.15

4. Jesse Ventura who's claim to fame was cutting liscence fees on lux vehicles

and sparring with the press and about 100 years of Pawlenty and his merry men in the race to the bottom.

Our state stopped so low as to steal money from the schools to balance it's budget.

Dayton finally has a DFL Legislature and a lot of ground to make up.
