We should be very proud of our state this morning!
TRUE BLUE again for Obama!
BOTH amendments REJECTED! (Voter ID and marriage restriction!) DFL control of the legislature for Gov. Dayton! Stupid Republicans, how'd you enjoy your 2 years of control? You freaking NUKED it with your ridiculous gov't shutdown and wasted time on petty issues like the amendments. Chip Cravaack - GONE! OK there is some bad news, looks like she-who-must-not-be-named is going to hang on by her fingernails to her seat. But she's a national embarrassment to the Republican party anyway.

Last edited Wed Nov 7, 2012, 07:42 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) There is a LOT of work to be done, both in St. Paul and Washington, D.C.
Dayton held strong and firm as the ONE PERSON standing between the will of the Minnesota Republicans and law for two years. Now he gets to work with a DFL leg - let's hold them to task on this from day one. Obama has a more difficult job with a Republican House, but must find a way to turn up the heat on them to work for what is best for the country rather than the top tier of the wealthy who have been running things for so long (in both parties). WE need to be the thorns in the side of members of Congress who continue to serve the interests of the few (in both parties). But today, we celebrate and plan. Nice work, everyone. |

4. Not negative, just realistic!

The country and our state are struggling in no small part because of policies that favor the rich at the expense of everyone else. This needs to change, and Republicans (and especially those who vote for them) need to deal with it.

If those two amendments had passed and the republicans had maintained control of the legislature Minnesota would have ended up looking like Atwood's A Handmaiden's Tale.
That could happen in the future if we are not vigilant but it's not going to happen now. |

and the Strib was saying that the Bachmann-Graves race is close enough that it might trigger a recount. So all is not necessarily lost.

Some years ago I visited California, talked to a liberal acquaintance: so you now live in Minnesota, he asked. Yes, and there are many who move from other states, who like the qualify of living and.... he finished my sentence "refuse to pay tax to support them.

Like someone on Facebook said, it's like some movie where a serial killer kills 31 people but the last one fights back and wins. That's what we did. We put an end to the campaign of hate and stopped it dead cold in it's tracks.
