Can you spare $3 to help Lon Johnson turn Mi-01 Blue?

Mi-01 is an open seat with Republican Benishek retiring. Democrat candidate Lon Johnson is neck and neck with Republican candidate Jack Bergman.

I received this e-mail from the Lon Johnson campaign earlier today and sent in a contribution. Can you do the same?

" Friend,

Here we are one month away from Election Day.

We’ve been running this campaign for nearly a year and a half, and it all comes down to these final weeks. We’ve laid the groundwork, but now the real work begins and it’s time to start getting people out to vote.

Can you please chip in $3 or more to bolster our efforts to connect with voters during this critical stretch?

Every donation makes a difference, and there is no more important time to contribute than right now. Your support enables us to reach more voters, continue to get our message out, and keep the campaign running strong over the next month. We are in a great position to defeat Jack Bergman, but we need your continued help.

Thanks for being a part of our team. Supporters like you are the reason we’ve been able to come this far. It all comes down to this final month, and we’ve worked too hard and for too long to falter now.

There’s just one month to go - so let’s go win!

Best Wishes,

Lon"

"Lon Johnson leads Jack Bergman by one point (43% Johnson / 42% Bergman / 7% Bostow / 7% undecided) in the race for Michigan’s 1st CD. Johnson is better known and better liked than Bergman, and he is winning crucial segments of an electorate a Democrat needs to win."

"The race has trended our way since August, as Jack Bergman’s favorability continues to decline. In August, Jack Bergman had a four-point lead (42% Johnson / 46% Bergman) and a 2:1 favorable to unfavorable ratio (31% favorable / 15% unfavorable). In the last two months, the number of people who are favorable towards him has stayed the same or declined (30% favorable) while twice as many people have an unfavorable view towards him (29% unfavorable)."
