I am looking for a 2br 1.5 bath senior unit to accessible condo walking distance from Lk. Michigan. Any realtor recs? Cannot be in a no big dog area ( I have a 50#dog& cats) can't be in a homophobic/teabagger area. Grand Haven to Michigan City area considered senior/ accesible required. Thanks for any info

The whole west side of the state is RW teabagger country; DeVos country.

Do you have a price range?

I'm in the People's Republic of Ann Arbor, only area I've got any on-the-ground knowledge....but this county (Washtenaw) is the best for services for disabled, elderly, and those who aren't. I did my research before I came home in 1996. A little blue island in a sea of red, redder, reddest.

There are lots of lakes; does it have to be the Big One?

My dream is to find an orchard on west coast of Michigan for summers, keep pied-a-terre in Ann Arbor for winters...

Look on Zillow website.

I must add you to my unofficial list of Detroit Area DUers. If that's ok.

I moved away about 10 years ago and ole Michigan kind of went to hell after I left. But I still miss the clear lakes and woods.

My research is steering me toward Mt. Pleasant. College town, liberal and half way between the 2 big lakes. Real estate is looking pretty reasonable and they have a U.U. Church.

Good luck.

Almost forgot, east of 131 son not in the snow belt.

I took a day trip up that way a few years ago. It was a deluge in Saginaw on the trip, though.
