Legislative Leaders and Attorney General Announce Gun Safety Legislation.
Annapolis, MD Speaker of the House Michael E. Busch, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr, and Attorney General Brian Frosh today announced common sense gun safety legislation to provide for safer protections for Maryland families while keeping guns away from those who would endanger others.
We are taking common sense steps to make our communities safer because guns dont belong on college campuses or in the hands of convicted abusers and suspected terrorists. said House Speaker Michael E. Busch
I value the Second Amendment and the protections it provides, stated Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr. I am a gun owner myself, but I also support changes that make our communities safer. This package is a fair balance that ensures that Second amendment rights are not impinged while also ensuring our students are safer and that suspected terrorists do not have access to deadly weapons.
I am glad the General Assembly is constantly looking for ways to make our communities safer, said Attorney General Brian Frosh. Guns dont need to be on college campuses. They dont need to be in the hands of domestic abusers. These bills provide real measures of safety for real people.
