LePage skipping meeting with Obama

WASHINGTON — Gov. Paul LePage is skipping a National Governors Association meeting this morning with President Obama at the White House.

LePage was at the airport earlier this morning and set to return to Maine, according to his spokeswoman, Adrienne Bennett, via email.

LePage, a Republican, had been in Washington since Saturday attending the NGA winter meeting, which ends today after the nation's governors meet with Obama, with job creation and state-federal partnerships some of the topics on the agenda.

Bennett did not say why LePage left Washington ahead of the White House meeting, which is the traditional finale to the NGA winter meeting. LePage did attend Sunday night's dinner at the White House for governors hosted by Obama, but this morning's session is when the governors and the president discuss policy matters.

Poor Adrienne probably had no clue he was on his way back.

Please don't take this personal slight as a reflection of what the large majority of Mainiacs think about your policies and Presidency in this State. As you are aware, he was elected by 38% of the vote. We'll try to rectify as soon as possible.

Regards.

No matter how I disliked him .. if George W called and asked me to serve.

I would say.. "Yes Mr President"

the chance to serve the USA comes along so very few times.. even for the ones you don't like.

Guess gov. LeRage chickened out.

The snub will still resonate with his base and his donors.

This is just one more nail in the coffin that is this idiot's political career. We need to put a lot of effort into backing his opponent when the creep comes up for re-election. Anyone know who we can expect to run on the democratic ticket?
