I have a certificate in rural ministry (as well as a master's degree in theology), and I know there will be opportunities to use my training with congregations that can't afford full-time clergy. Besides, I love the state. Had a great experience there, am concerned about the justice issues of rural communities. So, yeah, going back to Iowa at retirement, if not before.

Chicago. Those were fun times.

They lost the train there many years ago.

Also most of the Catholic Churches closed up. Big, beautiful buildings - now sitting vacant. Five of them closed within a few years of each other. Where did the people go who used to fill them up?
