2. They make the regular tag ugly so you'll buy the specialized ones
|
That they charge more for.
Some of those are very attractive:
We've got the first two on our vehicles, but I may change to the last one the next time I have to replace my tag. |

6. Another FSI graduate? Or just a supporter?
|
I finally graduated from FSU in 1977 after a lot of messing around. Never did anything with my degree - library science and anthropology don't have much to do with raising horses.

8. No, not a grad but
|
I was born at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital while my mom, dad and grandpa were attending FSU. Because of me, mom and dad dropped out and went to work....but my grandpa finished his Master's there. My Aunt and Uncle (dad's little brother - he met auntie there) also got degrees at FSU. Also my mom's sister got her Bachelor's there. (probably why my mom went there..and, now that I think about it, met my dad there....so I guess I can thank my other aunt for me being!)
I guess FSU is in my blood. If I ever win the lottery one thing I'll do is try to get a degree from FSU...My grandpa got a picture with and autograph from Bobby Bowden a couple weeks ago when he spoke at his church....I am not a big church guy but I guess I shoulda said Yes when grandpa asked me if I wanted to go to church with him then....it was the first time he'd ever asked me in my almost 49 years... |

9. Wow a reall Tallahassee native!
|
So many of us here in Tallahassee came here to go to college and just stayed. I've met a few Tallahasseans, but not many. It's like real native Floridians - there are few of us.
I live out off of Centerville Road - lucked into property here in 1977 and just stay on the farm. When we bought the only landmark to tell people where to turn was the sign that said "Bradley's 2 miles". |

10. I've only been back to Tallahassee 2 or 3 times
|
since I was about 7 - we did visit my grandparents a lot when they lived in Killarney....I remember Lucy Ho's and some restaurant shaped like a hat. Sometimes I kinda miss the piney woods of north Florida...it's different than down here in central Fl. Some of my best Christmases were at Grandma and Grandpa's in Killarney...

11. Sounds like me and my home town down in Polk County
|
I go back once or twice a year but only to see my parents. Back in the 60s there were some piney woods south of Lakeland where I'd go horseback riding, but most of the wild land I remember was either mined out or has been developed (or both since some of the mined land was reclaimed and developed). A good place to see the real Central Florida without development or introduced species is either the Kissimmee Cow Camp in the Lake Kissimmee State Park just east of Lake Wales - http://www.floridastateparks.org/lakekissimmee/default.cfm - or the Circle B Bar Reserve just south of Lakeland - http://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/recreation/areas/circlebbarreserve.html.
Lucy Ho's closed - after Mrs. Ho retired no one else in the family was able to keep the business going. I can't place the "restaurant shaped like a hat" unless it was that one on South Monroe just past the railroad underpass? That's now gone, too, as are the Talquin Inn and Silver Slipper restaurants, which were infamous as places for lobbyists and legislators to make deals in their little private dining booths. |

He says the traffic cameras are missing a lot of plates because the raised letters don't photograph well and these will be easier to catch on camera.
