3. Still too close to call, Florida may be undecided for days

From a local Tampa Bay news source:

http://www.baynews9.com/content/news/baynews9/news/article.html/content/news/articles/cfn/2012/11/7/florida_election_too.html

TALLAHASSEE -- Florida decided. But when will it be official?

Nearly 24 hours since the polls closed on Election Night, there is still no declared winner of Florida's 29 electoral votes.

President Barack Obama may not have needed Florida to win re-election, but we may not know if Florida went blue for Obama or red for Republican Mitt Romney until early next week.

6. Here is the latest

You can keep track of it here:

and here:

This is the explanation of why we are not done in FL:

Fla. counting last presidential votes; Obama leads
Nov 8, 9:47 AM EST
MIAMI (AP) -- Florida is counting its final presidential ballots as President Barack Obama holds a narrow lead in the state.

Most of the remaining ballots are being counted Thursday in Miami-Dade County. The state's largest county had a last-minute wave of absentee ballots that needed to be processed. Combined with a tight race, that has delayed the announcement of a winner.

Obama leads the count 49.9 percent to Romney's 49.3 percent. That's a difference of about 47,000 votes out of 8.3 million cast.

If he claims Florida's 29 electoral votes, Obama would increase his victory margin in the Electoral College to 332 to Romney's 206.

It's Miami Dade, where people stood on line all day and well into the night in order to vote. People were stillk on line at 10:30 at night on 11/6. Tremendous turnout plus I suppose Gov. Scott's decision to curtail early voting by several days really hurt us. Miami Dade is determined I suppose to count every vote.

Another article from Miami Herald says the absentee ballots are now the problem:

http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/11/07/3085779/some-20000-absentee-ballots-left.html

I voted early by absentee ballot. I was afraid if I voted on the computer it would be flipped to Romney.

I imagine that is what happened in Miami Dade also.

9. maybe it is better that way

They can say that they took their time and counted carefully. No vote stealing.

I really think that what they are saying about the absentee ballots is true. I voted early by absentee because I was afraid my vote would not be counted otherwise. A lot of other people did the same.

If you're from Florida maybe you've seen the absentee ballot -- they were four pages long. Legal size paper.

Geezus I would not want to be counting all that stuff.
