Florida voting question...
My elderly mother was residing in South Florida and has recently come to live with me in North Florida, we went ahead and changed her voter registration to reflect the new address, but she still has a FL drivers license with her old address on it. She can no longer drive, so she was planning on just letting her drivers license expire. Is she going to have trouble voting? I'm concerned that they will give her a hard time because the address on her drivers license does not match her new address. I read through our local Supervisor of Elections web site but couldn't find any clarification on this exact issue. Thanks in advance!

1. avoid the situation and request an absentee ballot.
|
The deadline to receive your request is no later than 5 p.m. the sixth day prior to the election.

2. I am not completely sure, but DEFINITELY order a State ID card ...
|
There are other times when a 'valid' state-issued ID is required in day to day life, so it should be acquired anyways ...
She should be fine with her current ID, and perhaps the temporary State ID she would receive if she registers for one. I am guessing she doesn't yet have any bills or letters with her name AND her new address on it ? ... That might work in a pinch, but I do not know Florida voter laws .... I could be way wrong about this ... |

3. Can you take her to a DMV and get her a Photo ID?

8. "has your address changed since you registered?"
|
Is the only question they should be able to ask you (here in Duval/Jax that's all they can ask). Try to vote early and tell them you live at the address where you registered. Or on Election Day, go to your assigned local polling place and tell them your current address, but use your ID to prove who you are.
