Medicare - The 40-54 demographic

Not only do Obama/Biden need to remind seniors that the Republicans may destroy their Medicare, they need to reach the 40 to 54 crowd. That crowd will be profoundly impacted (negatively) by the Ryan Medicare plan.

I'm not too sure that the Medicare discussion isn't changing. The Dems can't focus only on the elderly. They MUST reach those who would be the first to be impacted. In fact, they need to remind the elderly that the Ryan plan would adversely impact their children and grandchildren.

1. Well most have sons, daughters, and grandchildren and WILL not vote to end medicare! They KNOW what

they'll lose.

Im hearing in a committee they are talking of means testing, not only on money but health issues. If you were/are a smoker, than you and you alone, burdoned the system and will pay more. Bill Clinton talked about this, in a private speech.

2. That's the demographic that's starting to have trouble

finding the kind of jobs that have health insurance attached to them. Trust me, they're starting to be aware of what the destruction of Medicare will mean to them as they age and no one will sell them insurance at any price, not even if they win the lottery.

Letting them know just how miserly those $6000 vouchers are when it comes to paying an actual insurance premium for someone under 65 is and letting them know insurance is simply not available to people over 65 (why we got Medicare in the first place) might do the trick on convincing them why it's a very good idea to shoot the GOP down and keep a system that works.

Romney and his sidekick, the Enzyte Guy, are absolutely wrong on this. They're wrong on nearly everything else, but they're especially wrong on health care.

3. Look, the plan is to wreck the programs for everyone. The age range is immaterial.

There is no promise from any campaign on either side that should be relied upon. Good faith does not exist in Washington DC. The world view of the republicans is to make all the "little" people pay by reducing the wealthy's taxes to -0-, while those who truly labor pay for a totally bloated military and every government office that benefits them. That's it. That's what they want. The Democrats want to free up some pennies for their districts and district projects. They want votes in the local and state areas.

NONE of those pipe dreams are going to happen.

We need serious revenue in this country and that means taxes and cuts. But not among successful programs and not among those who are least able to afford this level of change.

The obvious choices are to raise taxes and cut the military.

4. How ironic,

had this discussion this afternoon with our 40 something daughter. Wake up folks, most of our kids are or will be going through some vary difficult financial months ahead. Most of there 401's and IRA's are worthless,or have employer restrictions as to plan money placement options. At least we were able to back load ours, that option not available anymore unless your 60 plus.

Anybody whom votes for Rmoney and crying Ryan and you have pulse,Can't help you.
