Just saw about Duke Energy rates going up

on baynews 9.

Does anyone know if they are just expanding the length of meter reading, from 30 days to 45,

in order to get everyone above the 1000kw per reading month and charge more for the second

1000kw?

These frigging thieves will do anything for a dime, anything.

at this point in my life I would never recoup my investment.

I did however email the PSC and a nice lady from Duke energy called me to see if she could answer any questions I had concerning said rate hike. I wonder how they got that?

When I asked if the plan was to make everyone pay for the second set of 1000 kwh at a higher rate she said, "well that was approved by the PSC back in 2013" but she didn't know if that part was advertised for the general public. I explained that we were already paying for a nuke plant that wouldn't be built, the repairs to another plant that was caused by the utility that we would never get any power from but were paying for anyway but my wages have stagnated for a long, long time, she told me she was a rate payer too and felt my pain ( ) I really started getting wound up by then and had to just tell her that I could no longer continue the conversation but that if I raised my rates as a company every year I would shortly be out of business. I think she got the point.

So grab your asscheeks, we're gonna get screwed again by the largest energy company on the east coast of the United States of America.
