Crazy question

I am in the midst of travels, and at the moment hanging out just at the edge of dc. Staying with some very nice people. But the shower is black with mold. Is there any chance that someone in DC might be able/willing to lend their shower to a fellow du'r (and then his wife) an hour sometime this evening or tomorrow morning?

From a practical aspect, i have no cleaning tools or the cleaners u would use.

Also, I am thinking that leaving it as is is a choice on my hosts part. it is my thought that he may leave it specifically, not wanting to use water to clean or chemicals due to environmental impact. Not my way of dealing with a shower, but I don't want to barge in and be disrespectful and change his home to suite myself

to clean it...your host might have problems with breathing the chemicals of mold killing cleansers.... You could say something like..."I'd love to repay you for your hospitality by helping with a household chore. If you have the cleaners, I would be happy to clean the 'bathroom' for you..."

But you'll have to do what your most comfortable doing...Me? I'd slip out to the store and pick up a bathroom cleanser that removes mold, and just do it. If you give the shower a good rinsing it won't hurt your host.

Truth be told, I am not sure if its just neglect, or an environmental choice. I've worked with hoarders and the mentally ill on cleaning. Things as bad as the tv show. And I have never seen a bath like this. Particularly not in isolation, as the rest of the house, while dusty, is normal. And the owner has made his strong environmental feelings known, use less water, turn off lights if not absolutely needed, etc. thus my indecision.

I don't want to insult by going against his policy, if its his policy.
I don't want to insult by implying that his home is not clean enought for my slovenly self.

A day has passed. I am unfortunately odiferous, with no affordable solution in sight. I think I will just clean and hope for the best.
