Arrest in shocking S.F. road rage shooting

Easy Chang, 25, is accused of shooting a pedestrian in a fit of road rage in San Francisco's Western Addition Neighborhood. Chang was arrested on Oct. 14, 2014.

A man accused of nearly running down a pedestrian in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood — and then shooting him when he objected — has been identified, arrested and charged, police said Thursday.

Easy Chang, 25, was booked into County Jail Tuesday in connection with the Aug. 31 incident. On Thursday, prosecutors charged him with attempted murder and assault with a firearm. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment Friday.

Police said the 37-year-old victim was in a crosswalk walking across Golden Gate Avenue at Broderick Street when Chang drove past him without yielding, almost hitting him.

My take on this is the guy shouted, "Take it easy," and Easy didn't like that level of familiarity. Maybe there was some meth involved, too. But thank goodness someone had a gun or it would have been non-news.
