We may hit 108 in Pasadena today. When will this end? I'm guessing around Halloween...Be careful out there today!

1. Next year, 108 may seem like a pleasant day...

But the current wave should be gone by mid-november and it will be short weather for Thanksgiving.

2. yikes

it's supposed to remain close to 80-85 here in Tahoe for the week... while the nights have been chilly, still no sign of freezing.... usually our first storm hits by 2nd week of Oct, some snow by Halloween. This year, all bets are off...nothing has been NORMAL for at least a year now

3. Maybe it's aliens!

...what was the name of that movie? Where the aliens wanted to heat up the planet?

Except it's not aliens...it's Repukes.

4. We've been dodging the bullets on the Central Coast so far this year,

I don't recall if we've even topped 100 before now, but we finally got it. Sure wish the CSU could afford air conditioning!

5. I'm so sick of this heat, it finally cools down a little then overnight heats up again. Takes days

and days before it cools off again and then just a few degrees at a time.

7. Wow!

And here I'm whining at 103 in Fresburg. 108 in Pasadena is unbelievable! Well, I can report that the raisin farmers are happy although my winter starts in the garden are now withered and pretty much dead.

9. Only going to be 102 today...

Only....Luckily I'm heading up to Eugene, OR soon. Only in the 70s during the day...sounds like heaven!

10. Yes, we've had

a long, LATE summer and temps around 100 degrees are utterly draining.

But I remember a Halloween maybe 7 years ago when it was 90 on Halloween! I was teaching in South Central then, and the poor kids were out on a black top playground marching around in their hot costumes. Back in the last century, growing up in N.Y., we had to plan costumes most years over snowsuits!
