Tucson - KiiM's Cactus Dave?

I have been contacted by an out of state friend who wants to know if he is still on air. I live in the Phoenix at 99.5 broadcasts a Spanish station or 99.9. I suggested that they listen via their computer but they tell me there is a different host in his scheduled time.

Do any of the Tuscon's DUers folks have any ideas? She says it been 2 weeks since he has been on air.

1. I don't listen, buy their website still shows him M-F 12-3PM and Sat 10-12 PM local time (AZ time).

We have both checked the KiiM website. This morning I listened for a few minutes just after 10. They had a woman announcing the songs and commercials. I am not a country fan but will keep trying. Thnx for your help.

like you I have a life and can't spend my entire day at the computer. Living in Phx, KiiM blends into our 99.9 and a Spanish station.

I was just giving my real life friend a little shit for getting the time wrong.

I tried to stream that to check it out, but there was ten minutes of commercials and it reminded my of why I listen to KXCI community radio in Tucson. even though they have slid downhill and are vastly less diverse and interesting than they were 10 years ago, they are still so much better than any commercial radio it isn't even comparable.

I thought I had read something about KIIM getting taken over by some clearchannel conglomerate but I could not find any articles on it when I googled, so no idea what the deal there is. They do seemed to be owned by one according to their webpage but no indication of when that happened. I thought about calling down there but forgot all about it, sorry.
