Anyone interested in a Progressive Voting guide I've compiled?
Anyone please feel free to let me know where you think I'm wrong; this is basically something that I've compiled after doing research as to how most progressives are voting (I feel Prop 114 is probably the MOST controversial, however).
I also did a rundown of the judges based on some combination of campaign contributions, by whom they were appointed, and how they are generally viewed by those that appear in front of them. Please feel free to add any information that I may have overlooked, or "correct" me in some way. Otherwise, enjoy, and pass it along if you see fit. President = Obama/Biden US Senator = Carmona, Richard US. Rep in Congress, District 9 = Sinema, Kyrsten AZ State Senator District 26 = Ableser, Ed AZ State Rep District 26 = Mendez, Juan & Sherwood, Andrew Corporation Commissioner = Newman, Paul & Busching, Marcia & Kennedy, Sandra Sheriff = Penzone, Paul Central AZ Water Conservation Dist = Goddard, Terry & Macre, Heather & Atkins, Lisa & Bain, Robin Elizabeth Bond Approval = Yes "NO" Judges Pelander, John Ballinger, Eddward Beene, James Blakey, Craig Brnovich, Susan Contes, Connie Coury, Christopher Ditsworth, John Gates, Pamela Gerlach, Douglas Harrison, Cari Kiley, Daniel Leclaire, Thomas McVey, Michael Palmer, David Potts, Karen Thompson, Peter Udall, David "YES" Judges Downie, Margaret Kessler, Donn Norris, Patricia Portley, Maurice Swann, Peter Abrams, Helene Cohen, Bruce Davis, Glenn Flores, Lisa Garcia, Jeanne Gass, David Gentry-Lewis, Jo Lynn Gordon, Michael Hannah, John Hoffman, Kristin Kemp, Michael Klein, Andrew Mahoney, Margaret McClennen, Crane McCoy, Michael McMurdie, Paul McNally, Colleen Miles, Linda Miles, Robert Oberbillig, Robert Padilla, Jose Ryan, Timothy Sanders, Teresa Steinle, Roland Stephens, Sherry Whitten, Christopher PROP 114 = NO (again, the most controversial, but it smacks of a "Hold Your Ground" law gone bad; I could be swayed, I suppose) PROP 115 = NO PROP 116 = NO PROP 117 = NO PROP 118 = YES PROP 119 = YES PROP 120 = NO PROP 121 = NO PROP 204 = YES Any thoughts? If not, enjoy!

This at LEAST tells you who appointed each judge. And you can try to Google each name individually to see who they contribute to, or to try and find out which way they lean politically. |

9. Honestly, I don't remember the exact site, but oddly enough it was a conservative forum.
|
They rated judges on a 1-10 scale based on ideology, how they were rated by their peers, how attorneys generally felt about them, and how people that appeared before them generally rated them. I essentially went against the judges that they LOVED, and when in doubt, said "no" to any other Brewer appointments (unless they seemed to trend liberally). It wasn't scientific, but seemed better than nothing.

8. Love Early Voting
|
It's so much easier, especially for me cause I have a hard time filling in my ballot and AZ uses scantron not touch screen. But even if I didn't have motor impairments. I still find it to make way more sense to be able to do it at home when you can look for information as you vote on props and local candidates. Next time I'll be better organized to do the judges..
I am so glad I found this forum!! GO OBAMA!!! |

10. My imperfect judge list for PIMA county
|
"NO Judges" cause they were appointed by Brewer or Governor Hull who supported Bush over McCain in the 2000 republican primary which tells me-conservative Karen Adam Kyle Bryson Carmine Cornelio Jane Eikleberry Richard Gordon Jan Kearney Michael Miller Scott Rash Christopher Staring Paul Tang Stephen Villarreal Jane Eikleberry Richard Gordon Philip Espinoza "YES Judges" cause appointed by Napolitano Sarah Simmons Gus Aragon "leave blank" Cause do not know anything about past governors Deborah Bernini Appointed in 1997 by Governor Fife Symington Richard Fields Appointed in 1997 by Governor Fife Symington Howard Hantman Appointed in 1994 by Governor Fife Symington Kenneth Lee Appointed in 1997 by Governor Fife Symington Leslie Miller Appointed in 1985 by Governor Bruce Babbitt I only did it by who appointed them!! I am sure there's more accurate ways of taking more data into account..Feel free to do a better one! |

For judges, reversing teabagger lists is a great place to start; I did that too
Yeah 114 (passed overwhelmingly) Sounded like common sense, but my fear is the same as yours. Especially when anything can be called terrorism, and give felony status. I prefer to leave these things in the hands of judges based on the merits of an individual case. |
