Related: About this forumI think people should boycott cop shows like True Detective (Spoilers for Season 1 of TD).
This show, among many others, in my opinion clearly condones or even glorifies unjustified police violence. Here are some examples from the show that are spoiling season 1. The two main characters are police men who practice vigilante justice by executing murderers on the spot and then tamper with evidence to hide their tracks. Marty Hart (played by Woody Harrelson) is also allowed to beat up the boys who are held in jail for raping his daughter while his colleagues look the other way. In the end what they have done is swept under the rock by the writer and they get away with their deeds, wounded, but without legal consequences. This is disturbing and not timely in light of current political events that had already been going on in a similar fashion when the show was filmed.

(22,340 posts)Do you really think that "wounded" is the only description you want to give for those two? You think their life is good? You think the writers are saying that what they did was/is good?
I see two people that are completely ravaged and damaged by the choices they have made during their life (personal as well as professional). They were not good people and their lives reflect that. THEY are the indication of what happens when you lead your life that way.

(61,690 posts)I used to occasionally watch Blue Bloods on Friday because I didn't have anything better to do. But I'm boycotting all of that crap even though I love murder mysteries.
I have also wondered about some of the movies vilifying teachers as well as those promoting cops. Seems like a coordinated effort.
