The Paradise is a lot like Mr. Selfridge...

On Masterpiece. I just started watching and am only 2 episodes in. I think it's well done even if the story is similar to Mr. Selfridge. I LIKE the main character far better! lol

Anyone watching?

I'm also watching Last Tango in Halifax and it's very sweet. Two more episodes to go before I finish.

Derek Jacobi's character is so very sweet. It finished airing on my local PBS station, so I'm watching it on my PBS app. It's only 6 episodes.

I was wondering (but too lazy to research it) whether Emile Zola wrote The Paradise before or after Selfridge's opened. Curious whether life imitated art or vice versa!

Probably if Mr. Selfridge had been a fictional character the author would have made him more likeable!

I am able to catch up by going to the PBS site and watch all the episodes aired, so far.

I am loving it.

Thanks again..
