Should we start a thread about how sh**ty NBC's Coverage of the Olympics is?

Series-ly, I can't remember it ever being so bad...even if they took off asshat Bob Costas, it would still suck.

1. YES

Absolutely cringe worthy during the opening ceremonies.

3. And it got worse from there...

I flip back and forth between that and any other program because so much is worthless, but there might be something good to catch within the hours of talking heads...all those sports and so little of the actual competition is shown!

2. NBC isn't even trying hard

I guess it might be because they know no one can switch over to another network to watch the coverage there.

I was disappointed with their coverage of the opening and it's been downhill from there.

4. You're right...they've topped (or bottommed?) themselves after the opening

ceremony...even without them cutting so much out the way the cameras were placed you couldn't really even get an idea of what the opening ceremony actually looked like.

8. Hah!

What really kills me is you have the best tennis players in the world, many very recognizable, and nada on tv for the matches.

6. my wife just returned from vacation in the UK

Where she says virtually every event is shown live on 24 TV channels.
NBC's coverage truly is pathetic.

7. It's called capitalism...let one network make tons off this...

Instead of making it enjoyable for the viewers.

9. What bugs me is the way they take out 10 minutes to have things like studio interviews

or reports on what is being said on Twitter--or Missy Franklin's reaction to seeing video footage of her high school classmates watching her on TV or photo montages of the gymnasts with Lolita expressions on their faces.

If I'm watching an apparatus final or the individual all-around in gymnastics, I want to see all the contenders, not just the U.S. team and not just their closest rivals.

10. I guess they think we like packaged schmaltz.

More stuff like what you noted than the actual competition...makes me want to go to Canada to watch it there.

11. Adding insult to injury in my area

We have 3 repukes in a primary tomorrow who are on at every commercial break braying about Obamacare, job killing taxes, family values, 2nd amendment rights, etc. I simply cannot bear to watch NBC live on my local station.

12. I'm in Connecticut this summer, and it's going for Obama even if he

kills someone...one of the states that has become ridiculously reliably blue, so no awful commericals here at least.
