Survivor One World - Episode Two Discussion thread

Since this our first full season on the new DU and we have lots more people, let me first tell everyone about this weekly thread. Each week someone (usually me or lazarus) will start a thread about the weekly Survivor episode. the thread is posted after the episode airs. I always wait until the next morning. This thread contains NO spoiler information (since spoiler information, by its definition, can not be information that has already aired on TV). If you have not seen the episode, do not go to thread which is about discussing the episode. The threads MUST NOT contain spoiler information about future events, but only discuss the episode in question. Certainly speculation about the future is encouraged, but no spoilers should be included, because this is NOT a spoiler thread.

Anyway, here we go.

I love that after tribal, the other "tribe" finds out immediately who is not there. This shakes things up a bit since usually they have to wait for a challenge. From the moment they returned, the fighting started. Michael is looking for a pat on the back for keeping their fire going while Kat is sure she could have made fire without them (not too sure about Kat's fire abilities yet). Christina and Alicia have a fake "make-up session" but its clear that its BS. The selection of Sabrina as leader might help, btu she has to actually act like a leader, something she failed to do last night. I thought we saw it when she asked Colton to leave, but then it was gone when she did nothing to lead the team in the immunity challenge.

On Colton, I think he made a mistake in sharing his idol information too early. He made the right decision on who to tell, but he should have waited until he had to use it. Now the information will get into the wrong hands. Keep that information tight until you need it. He is playing a terrible game and probably will get ousted soon.

the IC was fun to watch. I though it would favor the girls, since they are smaller, with a lower center of gravity, and I thought they would deal with the closeness of the challenge better. Was I ever wrong. Kat is the most nonathletic person who proclaims themselves to be athletic I have ever seen. She had no balance and no strength. Monica may have had the best overall day that any survivor has ever had. At the start of the day, she was clearly in the group getting ousted. I think she played herself into the fivesome. I think she is probably ahead of Kat now.

Tribal went as expected. Nina made a play to get everyone to save her and oust Kat. the problem, she was not clearly more valuable than Kat. So the tribe ousted her. However, I think Monica's vote for Christina was very telling. She voted against one of the bottom 3. I am sure that she voted that way to let the others know she would be happy to join their 5, and I think Sabrina Kim and Chelsea would take her over Kat. She may have just turned herself into a power player.

Overall, this season is going good. Looking forward to next week.

Maybe it was during the scenes for next week, but in talking about fire, he proclaims: "I'm a Republican; I don't believe in handouts!"

Fucking idiot. He begged for a handout from the women, many times, and actually got one in the form of the immunity idol. He is loathsome.

I always hate the players that whine all the time. But his play is terrible. He is making enemies everywhere. You need ot suck it up and play a better game, or else you are history. The best part of him right now is that he will play an idol which will at least shake up the tribe.

"I don't beleive in handouts." Unless they are for him. So typical republican imho. I don't want to help you, but you need to help me.

He's toast.

...there is no unity whatsoever...I love Sabrina though...funny as hell...We shall see if they can pull it together before the tribe of Abercrombie male-models and speedo-wearing old guys kicks them all out...

Colton, you're gay, you can't be a republican, they HATE you...that makes as much sense as a chicken being pro-Col Sanders...

I was thinking the same thing. You are a member of a party that wants to take all of your rights?

If he had ever seen the show before, Colton would have known NOT to give up idol info so early. It's the kiss of death.

Everybody wants to be the Next Great Villain. Colton isn't it!

And Colton is by far my least favorite person they have cast. I realize he is just a loathsome human being but I can't help it. As a gay man (me) he makes me shudder.

<sigh> Survivor would be so so much better if they stopped casting 95 percent twenty something models and a few token older (40's) folks. It sadly has gotten very one dimensional IMHO.
