Pink Flamingo Tree

Pink Flamingo Tree

Mardi Gras Tree (the tree itself had fallen over, so I only got the one shot)

Most of the trees didn't survive the high winds earlier in the day. Several trees, several themes, to include one with alligators. That one got hit hard. It's been rainy, windy, and hot around here.

I thought the trees neat. Each tree theme was state related. Solly Mack Dec 2016 #2

It was unfortunate that the wind created a tangled mass.

It's hot now, still raining. We need the cold to kill/stunt the mosquitoes. They get awfully big otherwise.

A Creole tree, also with fleurs de lis and other ornaments. (some voodoo tributes)

Cajun and Creole food being different, some of the same dishes look different. So the ornaments were also different even when both were gumbo or jambalaya.

The "holy trinity" of cajun cooking (onion, bell pepper, celery) in a tiny cast iron skillet ornament.

It was a celebration of Louisiana heritage more than anything.
