2. New lens?

Very nice bokeh on the first shot. The last one looks like you used a 2x with it, yet still has good detail and no CA that I can see.

sigma 120-300 with a 2x tele on the bird,without the tele on the butterflies

7. Gorgeous! You must be very skilled to get that close to the bird, too. A cardinal, right?

And I liked them all, but the third was my favorite for the number of flutterbies in the field there... The first was my next favorite, then the second. The bird was in a class by himself, though. A character study there.

8. i took the bird in a bird blind at a state park near me

I used the equivalent of a 600mm lens. the blind is set up so I can stick the camera out and still be shielded.
