And look what the squirrels have already done to the pumpkin on our front steps--in just 3 days! I guess they're carving it for us!

(18,219 posts)Does anyone have suggestions on how to photograph a white flower without washing it out like happened in the first shot? I have that same thing happen all the time and it frustrates me.

(31,381 posts)I kept changing position and angle with the first shot trying not to wash it out...
but obviously didn't work. The sun was just starting to shine through the area, and I thought
it might have had something to do with that.
Took these about 7:45 am--sun time 6:45 am.

(18,219 posts)Lots of light, low light, doesn't seem to matter for me. And I just love white and light colored flowers. There must be a way, but you did give me a suggestion that I haven't tried, which is to change positions.

(7,343 posts)They seem to have a knowledge of geography as well! The left carving looks like they were working on a map of Great Britain. Look, there's the Isle of Man! Needs Cornwall, though...Perhaps they were interrupted. Maybe they'll come back and finish the job!
Beautiful moonflowers, also. I've never heard of them before, but they look like morning glories.
