Love is in the air (and my yard)

This little (about half the size of the male) beauty (female Carolina Anole) caused quite the stir today.

Don Juan Anole was hanging out by the arugula, minding his own business (and eating bugs).

He sees the female on the post and begins to work his way over to her. Pausing along the way to give a display or rest.

Down the table and from chair to chair to chair to wall.

At this point he decides to take a flying leap into the grass and starts running. I'm laughing and not taking photos at this time.

A few minutes later he arrives at the gate.

The female is now running along the fence top to the side of the house and the male quickly follows.

I, however, did not.

I'll just wait for the babies.

And this is an example where a series of photos is greater than the sum of the parts! I can't single out one.........they just all flow together.

And I still think you need a blog!

He has been very helpful by eating the bugs around my lettuce/herbs.

I have toads and geckos at night to eat the bugs. Birds and anoles during the day. I still have way too many bugs at night.

Common House Gecko with a very unhappy moth.

I came upon slugs making baby slugs once. Fascinating. Messy, though.

I love critters.

laissez faire as well as deep involvement, and present a spectacle of a tale with the words and the top notch shots.
I'm on a sketchy internet connection for a while, and am thrilled I got to seen all of them.
Thanks.
