Photobucket: The new one. I asked about the upload SIZE feature

I found the place on how to ask them a question, and sent it off, asking: "where is it, I used to always click on the size I needed to have in my upload, and I cannot find it"

For anyone else who wondered here is the answer I got. And I don't like it a lot. Why do they release something with such an important feature missing, and no notice is given about it? I spent a lot of time trying to find something that I could not have imagined not being there any more.

Hi there!

Some features are not yet available on the new site, and choosing an upload size is one of them. It is something our engineers are looking into, but I do not have a time frame for when/if that option will be available on the new site. What's going on is that your originals file size is being stored for you to download. Your view of images in the site that are over 1024x768 are resized to 1024x768 but only for the web-size or viewed image. Images smaller than 1024x768 are not resized for the web view when looking at images in your account.

The best I can suggest you do until this option is available is to resize your photos to the resolution you would like before uploading (as long as they are under 1024x768), so that you are linking out that exact size image on the new site.

If you want an update on when that feature will be added to the site follow these steps: 1) log into your Photobucket account, 2) open the article below and 3) click the subscribe link in the top right-hand corner of the page.

Let me know if you have any further questions, feedback, comments or concerns. I'd be more than happy to assist in any way I can.

Thanks!

For those who want to, and are also inconvenienced, maybe more folks writing them would help put it on the front burner.

1. Thanks! I was wondering about that earlier this AM.

Found something I could use for the Scenes of Winter contest and got lost on the "new" Photobucket.

3. I've been happy with Flickr. Google+ is good, but I haven't really figured out that site.

I know I will have to use it more to figure it out.

5. Not liking new photobucket

Main problem for me on the new format is viewing multiple pics in an album.
In the old set up i could go to an album and select view all then within a few seconds every picture in the album was viewable by scrolling through the page of pics in a matter of seconds.
Now my only option seems to be to slowly scroll through all the pics 2 at a time, when dealing with several thousand pics this can now take a very long time, theres got to be a better way...

6. Thanks Mira for being so pro-active!

I looked all over to find the size option, bu now I know why I haven't found it.

Think I'm going to start researching other photo sites.

7. Just for the exercise though

complain and tell them how.
Thanks for your comment, callalily. See you in the next contest?
Will post a poll in all probability, before you can blink a few times.

8. A minor update - hopefully believable

for the first time today the features of "coming attraction" include the missing sizing feature.
YES.
Complain if you feel so inclined. The squeaky wheel and all that ...
(it works some of the time)

9. Another problem, blocked pic.

Used to be i click on a pic and there was a window where i could copy the pics URL and then paste the URL to another site now that URL has a small tag saying blocked. when i click on it i get a few incomprehensible pages dealing with blocking but nothing telling me how to unlock the block.

10. I forget just how I found my way

to the help page. But the explanation I ended up getting - inadequate though it was - happened pretty soon.
I can deal with that, and appreciate that they talked to me and gave me hope. What I can't deal with is being ignored.
