Out again today, playing with the ND filter
Found a better source of water. Can't wait until there is some good light to shoot with. I think these all were with a 10 sec. exposure.
An abandoned barn... (the white dots are snow)
And lastly, the Monocacy River bridge (The river wasn't so scenic) ![]()

2. I'll give you the seller I purchased from on eBay
|

They're in China but $17 vs. $80 for a 77mm ND1000 filter can't be argued with. Thanks for the compliment BTW. |

Love the bridge! How the road goes on and on...nice perspective. |

7. That one was kinda scary to take.
|
There's a lot of traffic on that road, surprisingly. I was afraid of being smooshed while I stood in the middle of it.

I want to get good at this and the only way is to shoot, shoot, shoot. As much as I love shooting my cats, I need to expand beyond them.
Plus, I've been pretty much a shut-in for the last 5 yrs. It's time I got out of the house. |

has helped me greatly. I wasn't always that way but stress can change us. Getting out with my camera brought me back. I'm happy for you! I know that feeling.

I'll have to check out that filter. I really like the barn and how you caught the snowflakes. The color de saturation gives it a sense of a little graininess that I like about it. It adds something.
Good job. |

14. An ND filter is something I've thought of getting.

It seems like it's a worthwhile purchase. These are beautiful shots.

15. They can also do this (not my image)
It just gives you extra stops in the daylight depending on the strength of the filter. Mine is 9x, so I think it gives me 3 stops. When I hold the filter up to sunlight, you can't see through it. |

Last edited Thu Feb 7, 2013, 04:38 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Today I've been playing around with the video function on the 7D. I've had the camera a couple of years (at least) and never got around to making movies. I was thinking Solly Mack might like to see a video of my swarms of redpolls.
I was always kind of interested in that Singh-Ray vari-N-duo filter. Do you have any experience with that? |

17. I don't have experience with any other filter except the one I got
|
This is my first time using anything other than a UV filter for lens glass protection. Like I stated upthread, I purchased a $17 ND filter from China cause I couldn't see paying $80+ for one. There are probably links on the interwebs that you could find out more about it.
I haven't shot any video with any of my camera's. Somehow the idea is repugnant to me, they're cameras, not video cameras. |

|
They make an impeccable product. What's not to like about Singh-Ray, well except for the price thing but they make unique quality filters that are worth every penny if you have that many pennies rattling around.
