Went downtown Sunday
First I had to capture the roofer doing a geometry lesson.
I like the wear on the streets from the passing cars. Distances compress by the telephoto.
A retirement home for cliff dwellers.
Basement doors of an old church. ![]()

Winter is a great time to practice BW. BTW, Orson Wells movies will teach you a lot about BW photography. |

15. One more image.
|
I had to use Resynthesize on this image to remove something very bright and distracting. It was in the distant foreground and I couldn't crop it out. It's a cool tool if you've never used it. I use it sometimes in the creek images I post. Why does trash have to be bright?
A couple decades ago a local writer suggested that bleach bottles should be shaped like Swans. He felt that would go a long way in beautifying the Kentucky river. ![]() |

17. That's one I think I'd rather see in color
|
Depends on what colors they are of course, but it denies the artist of his vision. Maybe in focal B&W with just the mural in hue would be cool.
I assume the edit was a reflection on the lower left of the door, so that may not work out. |

19. There wasn't much color to the work. The edit was in the leaf litter on the ground.

I like it.
Windows are the eyes to the soul of a city. I guess it's also an operating system, but still... nice pix. |

20. Are the apartments built into the face of the mountain?
|
When I think cliff dwellers, I imagine an ancient people who literally lived high up on a mountain ledge. Is this a modern incarnation of that? I like the pattern anyway. It makes for interesting composition.
You don't have to answer about the cliff people, I'm heading to wikki. Maybe they have a long shot that shows better where they've situated. |
