1. What!? No "My Man Godfrey"?
Another La Cava gem. A flawless cast: William Powell, Carole Lombard, Alice Brady, Gail Patrick, Jean Dixon, Eugene Palette, Mischa Auer.
All are terrific, as is the script.
Released in the midst of the depression in 1936, it is an iconic loony comedy. Nominated for all four acting Oscars. Won none of them. Regardless, a great flick.
See you in church.

2. Variety, variety, variety.
My Man Godfrey is a mainstay of classic movie schedules, including at TCM, but other movies can have their turn, as they do here.
Frankly I didn't even recognize the director's name, after all these years of watching vintage movies.
