I really don't like Marlon Brando. His version of method acting is so over the top, that his characters are unlikeable, even in the films where he is supposed to be the loveable protagonist (see Guys And Dolls (1955)). The only one of his film roles I've admired is The Godfather (1972).

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? What's so great about Brando?

I enjoyed Don Juan DeMarco, but that was because of the themes. The Godfather is a classic, but I put that down to the execution -- editing, cinematography, ensemble work. Brando himself has never dazzled me.
