TCM Schedule for Saturday, January 28 -- The Essentials: Post Mortem Movies

Tonight, it's films released after a key player in production died. For The Essentials movie at 8:00, it's The Misfits, released after both Marilyn Monroe (during production) and Clark Gable (after shooting wrapped) died. Saratoga lost Jean Harlow during production, and Soylent Green Edward G. Robinson. Then it's Rebel Without A Cause, released one month after James Dean's fatal car crash, and Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, the last bravura performance for Spencer Tracy. The Misfts was also Clark Gable's last film. He died about 10 days after shooting completed. According to IMDB, he thought it was one of his best films.

Thank you again for stepping in and posting! It's a fantastic line-up, and I enjoyed reading about the background on Saturday evenings offerings. What a weird and dark way to group the films together! Whoever thought of that?
